It’s hard to believe my baby boy is 11 years old…eleven!! He ages incredibly well, don’t you think?! I’m hoping I can follow his lead on that one. As usual, we were all much more excited about the event than he was, but the special organic cake mommy made him got his attention! The creative cake decoration credit goes entirely to daddy…nice job, eh?! While Grammy held him, we sang, lit the candles (made a wish for 11 more years), and enjoyed watching him devour a small piece. It was especially important for us to make a big deal this year, as we know next year will be a little crazier different…but he will always have a birthday celebration. And he will always be my ( and our) first baby.

happy birthday billy!!

sick days

Well, I never made it to Boston…the train left without me, literally. I had no choice but to cancel my trip last minute, since I could barely walk by Friday morning. I will spare you the details and just say that my pregnancy side effects have been no fun. Believe me..I know they are ALL worth it and I am not alone, but…not fun. My amazing husband (who began in the medical field as a nurse and is still registered) took care of me all weekend long. I couldn’t possibly be more thankful for the two men in my life…Billy knew I was hurting and cuddled even more than usual, which I didn’t think was possible! Bear with me as I play catch up for a few days…I have a lot of work to do and my body is still healing. I’m sorry I don’t have any fabulous Boston photos to share…but I have exciting things in the works!

*update…still struggling with health, see this post on nesting*

the weekend

Billy-antiques

We had such gorgeous (and unseasonable) weather this weekend! Although I’m quite the snow bunny, it’s hard to complain when the sun is shining, and the air is brisk yet mild enough to not need a heavy coat. We got some household stuff done, but tried to get outside as much as possible. We took a country drive and ended up at a great antique store, discovering treasures…such as this giant chippendale chair! Billy just couldn’t resist demonstrating the scale…he is so much fun to shop with!
