fifteen eleven…

Our first stop on the way into D.C. was Old Town Alexandria…a charming, historic favorite of mine.  In fact, I was born in the area, so it makes sense why I love it so much. My main goal was to visit Fifteen Eleven, a beautiful paper goods boutique you have most likely heard of! Owned by the lovely Suann Song, the entire building is "buzzing" with creativity-The Hive at 1511 houses many other talented ladies. It did not disappoint, and is a haven for lovers of letterpress, like moi! Meeting Suann was a true pleasure, and she was kind to chat with us considering what a busy lady she is. If you find yourself in Alexandria, be sure to stop in…and also check out Suann's local favorites:

This weekend we're headed to DC for the last of our "mini babymoons"! We had a fabulous time in NYC already, but thought it would be appropriate to have our last one in DC, where we had a "mini honeymoon" three years ago. This time though, Billy is coming along with us-he is so fun to travel with, and it will be one last hurrah as a family of three! It will be a luxurious first Mother's Day-hard to believe the holiday now relates to me, wow. We are still so devilishly happy, and my love for mr. fleurishing is seriously…monumental. Cracking myself up…couldn't resist the cheese, sorry!

Bon weekend tout le monde!

We took a road trip to NYC on Saturday with our friends Angie & Tim for a special pickup…the Ladurée macarons & tea for my baby shower! It was quick trip in and out of the city, but we had a blast and made sure to have enough macarons for the ride back. Angie snapped these photos of me outside…24 weeks pregnant (with twins…in case you forgot, haha)! We also took a little video…check it out!

Mr. Fleurishing and I finally rented The Adventures of Tintin…not only did we enjoy it, but memories came rushing back of my second trip to France. My brother has been a huge fan of the comic since childhood, and has quite an impressive collection. So, when visiting him in 2006, we combined a tour of Cheverny with the Tintin museum on the grounds! I was excited to learn that the beautiful chateau was the model for Captain Haddock’s country estate, and every time I see it in comic form I am reminded of the beauty. The museum is full of fun, with vignettes of Tintin’s desk, closet and costumes, storyboards, and a room that simulates a scary storm-we all really enjoyed it, and it is a great place to take children! My brother captured a favorite photo of my Mom and I on the grounds…it was a special day for everyone.
