bon weekend

shakespeare-and-co

You guys, this is what my desk looks like while planning for Paris. Ha…honestly it’s not that much of a stretch. Thank goodness for evernote, pinterest, and google maps. Most of my travel inspiration resides in the digital world now, although I do still (and will always) reference my collection of magazines and books. Even though I’ve explored much of the city over the years, my wish list for this trip is very long…and I’ll forever be discovering it. I’m so grateful for the connections I’ve made via social media, and the amazing blogs I’ve discovered, rich with travel inspiration. So, this weekend I’m leaving you with some links to inspire your francophile adventures…and you can check out my full list of favorites here.

BON WEEKEND!

You may have noticed my francophilia has been on hiatus (here) lately, and that’s about to change. Early next year, I will be returning to my beloved France…my flights are booked!! I cannot wait to visit my brother and family, spend time with friends, and have exciting new experiences in my favorite city. After much deliberation, mr. fleurishing and I decided it wasn’t yet time to bring the children (see this post) …that day will come. For now, I am more than grateful for his encouragement to go, as much as I wish we could all travel together. Until I have fresh francophile content to share, you can get your fix in my archives here + here. I’m just so ridiculously giddy…let the planning begin!

peace in the poconos

I took quite a few photos during my weekend in the Poconos, but keep coming back to these…this is my breathing space. Can we all just take a moment and collectively exhale? My lovely hosts Chanee + her husband suggested we canoe to dinner and I jumped at the idea, being the lake lover that I am. We were met afterwards with this beautiful and serene setting. It’s incredible how much peace nature can provide…canoeing, kayaking, and a long walk really helped to clear my mind (not to mention the wine and girl talk). The mountains were thankfully still rich with fall color,  and the air was delightfully crisp. I couldn’t help but imagine our family spending time there, creating memories like the ones I hold so dear of my childhood. Even though I am now slightly obsessed with looking at Poconos real estate, I returned home feeling refreshed + grateful. How lucky I am to be greeted with these smiling faces, and have so much love under one roof.

soho

soho-nyc

What a whirlwind week-nap transitioning with the twins (more on that later), minor surgery for mr. fleurishing, and last night…SOHO! I was in town to celebrate my Red Tricycle Award win, along with friends Jahje + Amy…it was a much needed ladies night for us working mamas. I rarely get into NYC these days, but when I do, I always find myself downtown with camera in hand, simultaneously dazzled + dazed. I do have a preference for this part of the city-the architecture is beautiful, and there is such an elegance about it (much like Paris). I can’t help but daydream about living in a light filled loft, with soaring ceilings and fabulous acoustics. My apologies for a slow blogging week, but I have much in store for next week, including the first philly creatives feature (finally)! Wishing you all a happy + relaxing weekend!
