thoughts

Ever since moving to Philadelphia a year and a half ago, I have been continually inspired and energized by the amazing talent that thrives here. I continue to meet amazing entrepreneurs, artists and creatives that help make this city so vibrant. I kept thinking how great it would be to get people together, in one space, to meet, network and socialize, so the idea for this event was born. The Philly Creatives party was so much fun, and I have many to thank for helping make it an enticing and entertaining evening. I am grateful for the relationships I have built thanks to blogging, business and social media, and look forward to making many more…thank you to all who came out!

Janet & Stu of Three Potato Four kindly offered their space, which was perfect, and of course we all ended up shopping! Sullivan Owen created a beautiful fall floral arrangement, in a giant glass mason jar that I am coveting. Victoria Andreacchio of V’s Cupcakery in Norristown provided the most amazing cookies & cupcakes…seriously the best I’ve had in Philly! Lindsey Buck has such a talent for calligraphy, and made the gorgeous signage. The music and beautiful sound of Sharon Sable and E. Shawn Qaissaunee took things to another level. I am so thankful to have met them at the Terrain autumn festival, and just might become their newest groupie. Last but certainly not least, Art in the Age supplied the ROOT & SNAP which mr. fleurishing used to create some very pleasing libations!!

Interest has been expressed for another event, and your feedback and thoughts would help to make that a possibility. Maybe something quarterly, possibly having speakers? What are your thoughts?

announcing…fleurishing llc!

Fleurishing_600x400

It's official…fleurishing llc is live! What started as a blog name and twitter persona has grown to represent my (adult) interior design and styling (event, editorial, etc)…and will eventually be a bigger site. For now, it's a way to contact me for any of your design and styling needs! I will be sharing my portfolio and news here on the blog, in addition to all the francophilia and personal bits that will always live here. A million thanks to the talented team of Curious & Co. for their site design, blog makeover, and just general awesomeness. I don't know what I would do without you ladies! I am very excited about this new venture, and hopefully nesting and fleurishing can live happily ever after, side by side.

Showerfavors

In honor of my new business venture (which I will officially announce Friday), I am sharing different aspects of my portfolio. First up, event planning, and this baby shower I styled and co-hosted. It was quite an elegant affair, if I do say so myself. It had a subtle nesting theme (a nod to my other business), and the guests were treated to champagne, dessert nests, and goodies from Neiman Marcus. Even though event planning is not usually my main focus, it isn't far off from interior design…it is all part of making your life beautiful. I hope to have more event styling opportunities in the near future, as I really enjoy it!

Remember when I mentioned that I had an exciting new project? Well, now I can share it with you! I was so flattered to be asked by the talented ladies of Curious & Co. to style their Claremont Collection photoshoot. I had the great pleasure of working alongside the experienced photographer Trevor Dixon, and it was such an awesome experience. That's my hand…styling is meticulous work, and honestly…I loved every minute of it. They have just re-launched their site, which looks incredible, and one of their wedding invitations is featured in the latest Martha Stewart Weddings!! I'm so happy for them, and am proud to say I had a "hand" in the new look…thank you again Brooke, Terry, and Maggie. Congratulations all around! Oh, and anyone looking for styling…you know where to find me!
