Ever since Marie + Henry joined our world, I’ve been so much more aware of natural and organic products. Today just so happens to be Earth Day…so what better time to talk about the organic offerings from Burt’s Bees Baby, right?! We’re all familiar with the amazing bath and body products, but did you know of their clothing line which launched last year? I was immediately drawn to these plush organic cotton bathrobes, hooded towels and mitts…(those of you who know me well know my passion for neutrals). You can personalize them with a custom monogram as a lovely gift, or in our case…to distinguish twin items! Henry and Marie snuggled right into them after their bath and loved being able to lounge for a bit before getting dressed…oh, the luxury. Now all I need is a mommy sized version!

*Burt’s Bees Baby provided these products for review, but this post and opinions are my own*

The nine month mark arrived on saturday…yes, I said nine. Wha happen?! (That one is for all the christopher guest fans out there.) Our latest shoot at Little Nest resulted in these keepers…I mean wow. These kids really know how to work it for the camera. They’ve grown used to it with mommy’s lens in their face from day one! At nine months, they are both very mobile and things are getting crazier…Marie is walking (with a walker), and Henry just began crawling, gaining speed every day. They make each other laugh often, and the babbles and sounds are becoming more coherent. Last night in fact, Marie crawled into my lap, looked up at me, and said “mama”. MELT. For the record, I now know the earlier one from Henry was a fluke (even though he looked at me and made the sound with purpose, he has not done it since)…so I await the day he says it again. Every day is a pure, joy-filled adventure!

Marie continues to amaze and entertain us daily…she is a colorful and determined little lady. As eight months comes to a close, she is now walking with a walker, getting into everything, and climbing stairs! Yes, that’s right…climbing stairs…scary. She loves music, and crawls to the speakers to be close to the sound…if she could turn it to eleven she would (she likes it loud, like her mama). This may sound weird, but I have to remind myself she is a baby, and embrace every moment of dependence. One of the meanings of the name Marie is rebellion, and I knew and loved that fact from the moment the name was on our list. I love watching her discover her strength, independence, and yes…her inner rebel.  She is so delicate and sweet, yet so fierce and feisty. I look forward to the challenge!

Just a few fun shots from the Etsy Pop-Up at West Elm a few weeks ago…these crack me up. We challenged ourselves to bring the kids + billy into the city for this event, curated by local lovely Jaime Derringer of Design Milk. There were so many friends and amazing vendors we wanted to support, and we’re glad we went. However-I’m still regretting the photobooth…oy. I know it’s shocking that this was my first one as a blogger, but seriously…flash photography + timer + no screen to see yourself = recipe for disaster! The one of the boys cracks me up. Wishing you all a fun filled weekend!

As you can see, this photo shoot quickly became all about Marie. Her beauty continues to blossom before our eyes, and the girl has personality for miles. This dress kills me…it was the first one I bought for her while pregnant, and the timing of it fitting for spring and easter was kismet. I melt even more seeing the way she smiles at her daddy…it is heartbreakingly sweet.
