cuteness + confetti

confetti-heart-toothpicks

In an effort to do something fun yet budget friendly with the kids for Valentine’s Day, we kept this craft very simple. The kids loved it – a colorful confetti mess combined with cupcakes – what’s not to love?! Using all of the empty Bonne Maman jars that we’ve been saving, I divided all the colors of confetti, and let Marie + Henry each make their own custom blend. They loved exploring the different textures, and making a mess – it was very beautiful though, so I didn’t mind.

Crafting is so enjoyable at this age (two and a half) – they are hungry for it, everyday. It doesn’t matter what we’re doing, but I earn bonus points for anything messy. After applying glue to heart toothpicks, the kids dipped and stirred them into their jars of confetti, creating fun cupcake toppers. Click through to see more cuteness!

christmas cookies

twinsbaking

Our Christmas day was a blur of happiness (as it should be), but many of my favorite moments happened while we were baking as a family. Having never baked together before, I knew the kids would love it, and it was the perfect opportunity for the kids to don aprons for the first time. Little people, wearing little aprons, and using little baking tools? Yes please!

That smile on Henry melts my mommy heart, and he flashed that quite a few times during our baking session. He loves to be in the kitchen, just like his daddy. This was our first time baking, and he really loved every minute of it. He was especially fascinated with the mixer and how it functioned of course, but was focused + interested the entire time (which is saying a lot for a two-year-old). Marie is my mini-me, and true to form, enjoyed the cutting + decorating the most.

retree joy

Ever since we finished the playroom, I’ve been scheming + dreaming about a separate tree for the kids. I wanted them to have something different + interesting, that they could decorate themselves. After months of searching (and even begging mr. fleurishing to make something), I found the perfect tree! Enter Carrie Leeb, a San Francisco-based artist (and tree lover) who makes these gorgeous, reusable, decorative trees. I reached out to her and she (thankfully) obliged my last minute holiday request, and agreed to let me share this discovery with you all! I’m just so smitten with it.

all they want for christmas

toddler-wish-list

This holiday season is already so much more exciting than the last, with Henry + Marie being old enough to acknowledge the magic. We are savoring the season and finding so much joy in rediscovering the wonder through their eyes. All of these items are luxuries, obviously…they are two lucky little ones. We have already donated many of the kids toys and clothing to those in need. They may not fully understand why we do it yet, but it feels good and is what the season is all about, after all. We’ve fully embraced the spirit over here, and I’m sharing this list in the hopes that Santa is a blog reader. Seriously, what does he do in his off time? It’s not that far-fetched. So, dear Santa…they’ve been good. Really, really, good.

This is our everyday…lazy mornings, stuffed animals (aka “friends”), and comfortable clothing. There are many days when we don’t make it out of our pajamas, but when we do, these Burts Bees Baby thermal tee + pant sets are an easy choice. They’re comfortable, cozy + warm, which is key on chilly winter days. It’s easy to throw a coat over these outfits for errands, and ease is what it’s all about with twin toddlers! Our everyday is a beautiful chaos, and therefore simplicity, even in clothing, is so greatly appreciated. Check out all the great clothing Burts Bees Baby has to offer on their site!
