I have my parents to thank for my interest in history, and my local area for inspiring my love for historic preservation. Ever since moving to historic Chester County, Pennsylvania, I have been a bit obsessed with absorbing all the information I can, studying the regional history, and photographing as much architecture as possible. No matter where you go, history surrounds you. When a friend told me of the first annual Preservation Fair I was so excited by the idea…I just HAD to go! I nerded out (as my husband says) on so many experts under one roof…I learned quite a bit, and met many talented people. My passion continues to grow…

breathing space
In between errands and packing we took a breather at Terrain, where I always feel inspired. The weather is growing warmer every day and spring is on the horizon…counting the days!
our cottage!
I'm so happy to finally share our news with you…in a few weeks this will be our new home! I've been driving myself crazy with design decisions, and maybe mr. fleurishing a bit too, hehe. I call it "designer's curse", as it is always harder designing for yourself. We've started packing up our little loft and are so excited to be in a home again. It's the first time we've bought a home together, so it is special, and we can see ourselves there for a long time. Truly smitten with our historic little town, we're only moving a few blocks away. Built in 1948, our cottage is one of the "newer" properties in the area! I'll be chronicling the design process as we go along………..
spotted horse textiles…
I recently crossed paths with the owner of Spotted Horse Textiles, Susan Swarter. We met in a way that only fate would explain, and we are both believers in things happening for a reason! She invited me to her gorgeous farmhouse to see her products in person, and I went armed with my best lens! I was instantly in love with it all, of course, but also equally impressed with how she got started and how much love and effort she pours into her business. From the upholstered pieces to the pillows, I love it all. It is eco-chic at it's best, in my opinion…love!
