This weekend I had the privilege of attending a lovely private event hosted by Terrain. Held in their cozy event lodge, the atmosphere was sophisticated yet relaxed, and the variety of guests made for entertaining conversation. The highlight of the evening was the harvest plated, five course dinner masterly crafted by Executive Chef Keith Rudolf. I had my first taste of (beer braised) bison, which I thoroughly enjoyed, along with every delectable bite on the menu. I believe I heard a collective gasp when the cranberry bread pudding stuffed pumpkin arrived for dessert! Afterwards, guests were invited outside to celebrate the brisk autumn air with root infused hot chocolate and a crackling fire. It was the best kind of experience-where you laughed, forgot time, and left with a smile on your face. It won't soon be forgotten!

Strawberries are my absolute favorite fruit, and I will eat them any and every way possible. It dawned on me last year that I had never been picking (crazy, right?!), and it became a major mission of mine. The picking window is brief, and despite my current physical state I was determined to get there Friday during the last of the cooler temps. Luckily we have the deliciously old fashioned Highland Orchards a short country drive away….one of the many reasons why we love our area. The sweet smell of the field was lovely, and like a treasure hunt, each ripe beauty I found was a delight! I had an a-ha moment realizing the next time would be with our children, and left happily with a full basket and berry stained hands.

Clover-market

This weekend was filled with “nesting” activities, chores, and shopping…at Clover Market! First, I must confess…I had my camera, but ended up chatting too much. So, this shot is from our last time at the market, ha…this worn street lamp caught my eye. I would like to take a quick moment to mention some friends who have booths there…Spotted Horse Textiles has just joined the ranks, and the selection of authentic burlap wares and antiques are to die for. I ran into Jahje of Baby Jives and she just had a beautiful baby girl so no booth currently, but do check out her handcrafted baby mobiles, they are so charming. Many of you know of Chez Sucre Chez, and Kimberly is also now selling there…I am gaga over her unique embroidered designs…you will be seeing her work in our nursery! Clover Market is brimming with local talent and always enjoyable…it’s worth a visit Philly friends!

Terrain at Styer’s is the perfect place to enjoy beautiful spring weather, and a local favorite of mine. Upon arrival, I get lost in the gardens, then find my way into the main building to explore and shop. As the first outdoor venture of URBN, the visual displays are endlessly inspiring and give new meaning to a garden center. Situated in Glen Mills, it’s a quick trip from Philly, and thankfully…15 minutes from my home! Be sure to dine at their café, which serves delicious local, organic fare within a charming greenhouse. Two words…pot bread. If you can’t visit in person, you can always shop their beautiful online boutique!
