bon weekend

shakespeare-and-co

You guys, this is what my desk looks like while planning for Paris. Ha…honestly it’s not that much of a stretch. Thank goodness for evernote, pinterest, and google maps. Most of my travel inspiration resides in the digital world now, although I do still (and will always) reference my collection of magazines and books. Even though I’ve explored much of the city over the years, my wish list for this trip is very long…and I’ll forever be discovering it. I’m so grateful for the connections I’ve made via social media, and the amazing blogs I’ve discovered, rich with travel inspiration. So, this weekend I’m leaving you with some links to inspire your francophile adventures…and you can check out my full list of favorites here.

BON WEEKEND!

Notes

  1. Thank you for turning me onto Haven in Paris Susan! I finally get to go back to Paris for a little weekend in February and I can’t wait to jump into a little research myself :) Cannot wait to see what you get up to during your trip.

  2. any “must-dos” on your list this time? I’m going over in a couple weeks for 5 nights with my mom and am trying to find a good mix of favorites to share with her and mabye some new things for me :)

    • I’m trying to check off a lot of “off the beaten path” stuff this time…I’d be happy to make some recommendations for you, but would need to know how much you’ve seen first. ;)

  3. I’m thinking along the same lines- I’m going out of my “comfort zone” which is the 5th/6th and we’re rented a HiP loft in Montmartre… I think that will be a good start to seeing and doing new things. Assume that I’ve done all the usual touristy stuff on previous visits- Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, Arc d’Triomphe, etc. My husband and I did a fantastic market cooking class one trip and I’m thinking about doing that again with my mom. We’re doing a Paris by Mouth wine and cheese tour, and I think we’re going to drop our bags off Sat morning when we arrive and head to Les Puces de Saint-Ouen- something I’ve always wanted to do but can never quite convince my husband ;) I don’t want to have our days too scheduled but it’s hard when there is so much to see and do!
