“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn’t show.”
Andrew Wyeth
Notes
How I love your citations! Reminds me of this one: ” Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart” Victor Hugo and
“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” Albert Camus

Thank you Sam! Those are also great ones…merci! xo
Aren’t we lucky to live so close to the landscapes that inspired Wyeth? It is so natural to drive down those country roads and quietly say to yourself, “This looks just like a Wyeth painting!” Wyeth’s love of winter paired with the landscape of the Brandywine Valley resulted in some incredible artwork!
Oooh, I love thinking about the season this way. Great (new to me!) quote, thanks for sharing, dollface :)
I once lived on a horse farm in Chester County. As much as I miss it in the summer, I really miss it in the winter. There is something about a winter landscape that is breath taking.
Yes Cara…we are so lucky…everywhere we turn there is inspiration!
I love finding new quotes…happy to share this one with you! xo
It is very beautiful here year round…but I’m partial to winter as well. Thanks Donna!
