The day has come my friends, to reveal….my dollhouse dining room! Before you go looking for other rooms, I have a confession. This is the only completed room in my house. The others are very near completion, but I don’t want to share them before they are picture perfect. I put all of my efforts into getting this one glamorous room done in time for the challenge deadline. I have put a lot of time and effort into reviving my grandfather’s dollhouse, and it is so rewarding. Here are the details of the room, if you are curious. Many thanks to Emily Henderson for creating this FUN challenge!
* Walnut plank flooring, which I refinished black
* Brick wall added, and all walls painted Farrow & Ball All White
* 1:12 scale ghost chairs…my most exciting find!!
* LED chandelier…no wiring needed, holla!
* Custom drapery panels, made from designer fabric sample
* New paned windows throughout house
* Brass drapery rod, which extends!
* Gold frames provide a unique display
* Tin ceiling & paneled door added for historic flair
* Last but not least, the tiny place settings & silverware!

So sweet Mom…and yes, it made me feel closer to him working on it. xoxo
The ghost chairs are my favorite!! Thanks!!
I can’t wait Will…it’s going to take some time though-very labor intensive! ;)
Oh my gosh this is seriously amazing! Can I live in that room? For real. Fantastic job Susan.
I am so excited to see the rest of your home. You are designing your grandfather’s special dollhouse with the detail and care a heirloom piece deserves. Ours I designed for our daughter (with her own sense of pretty style and design in mind):

Thanks Cailin!!
That is very sweet of you to say…I am giving it the love & care it deserves. Yours is lovely!
Thank you Crystal!
Why yes, they do! Thanks Lindsey!! :)
Merci Camille!
I absolutely cannot wait to see the whole thing! Is this something you’ll let your future daughter play with, or one of those “look only, this is one of mommy’s special toys” items? Ha.
Hi Kayla! Well, it will be a while until it is complete, but I’m taking my time and doing it right. This will be Mommy’s dollhouse when we have children…they will have a simpler, more kid friendly one! ;)
Hope those new rooms will be revealed soon. You’re off to a gorgeous start, i love the white brick wall :)
Happy New Year,
