take the pledge

I grew up surrounded by books, literally. My Mom is a (retired) librarian, and reads more than anyone I know. I understood the dewey decimal system like no other by the time I was eight. I had fun card cataloging, and searching microfiche.  I learned to appreciate the feel of the page, the smell, the weight…I am a book lover. As techy as I am , nothing will ever replace the printed word for me. So, in honor of World Book Day, I encourage you to take the pledge

Notes

  1. I am a total techy but I cannot bring myself to have an e-reader, I love everything about books. I grew up in a household of readers and there is nothing that will replace the magic of a real book!

  2. Thanks for posting this. I am in agreement with Andi I don’t think I’ll ever get an e-reader. I love holding and flipping the pages of a book too much.

  3. I’m so thankful my passion transferred to you, my daughter…xoxo

  4. I can’t see myself ever owning an e-reader. I love the feel of pages between my fingers. The older and busier I get the harder it is to find time to read, but I squeeze in little bits of time as best I can!
